**** Officially an EX-NCC member ****
yEa 30th June was the official ORD day for the PartD 2006 and a few CLTs including myself.
Hahahaha, i also realised I couldn't realli face my PartCs on 30th. I thought I would cry if i looked into their eYes...lOlx. Evrytime I realised i was near them or smthing, I began to walk away attempting to distant myself from them...lOlx.
Anyway before the parade, a few NCOs and I were having some fun with Neo and Kenneth, just for one last time, making them do funny and kinda stupid things actually, in e canteen. Well we got carried away tgther and didn't realise that alot of ppl were watching...hahahaa. So HongChin came over and pointed it out to us, and after some thought I realised he was right, so I decided to stop taking the video wif Joshua Teo's phone. Here's the thing bout me....when im backing off alr, ppl got to noe when to quit it.... anw, YingTong came over also and was rather offensive with his words, questioning me like "Joel, as a senior CLT...do u think its alright to play like that or not...in front of so many ppl."... True I would say that I was out of line a little... but i thought...manz...now here's someone who is questioning me sarcastically. I was about to throw a line back at him, when Joshua Teo pushed me aside and stood up for me...
"Eh why u say him (joel/me/wenhan)? U wanna say... u say me lr!!! wat u mean 'as a senior clt' wat thing? I want to play one wat..."
Joshua was all fired up and was arguing with YingTong, over me. I was stunned for bout 5 secs before snapping back into reality and trying to calm Joshua down, at the same time telling YingTong to back off. To add to things, Clement who was with us too, stood up and began arguing with HongChin too, over how YingTong spoke to me...
The shit was getting out of hand, i turned around and tried to calm Clement down. But in doing so, I let go of Joshua, and he sorta went after Tongs, as Tongs had walked off in Josh's face. I then randomly told a PartD 2006 to get all NCC cadets out of the canteen and fall in on the parade square... Then I ran after Josh, pulling him by his arms and chest, trying to prevent any physical conflict between Tongs & him, i also kept whispering to him "its ok...its ok...let it go... i'm fine i'm alright, let him say wat he wanna say". Clement was more in control and he only limited it to verbal arguments with HongChin.
The situation died down after awhile, and we proceeded with the schedule for the day. But I was still veri much touched by wat Clement and Joshua did... they said they couldn't stand for it, when Tongs spoke to me tt way. That was why I was quiet for the rest of the day...... touched beyond words.
I was in a mix of emotions when as the parade formed up, first with the marching in of the 4 platoons and then the current USM, weijie giving commands. When Weijie called for the new committee to march in to take the places of the current committee members, i almost teared out in pride as Neo gave the commands for the new committee to march in.oh yEa...gotta thank Kim, Nic and e few netties who came to watch the parade too = )After the parade was actually the buffet dinner, but by tradition the new PartDs had to be screwed badly by the remaining CLts...and so i let them get screwed...hahahaha... the first time i nvr help them = ) Actually I walked away and hid in the darkness and teared a little bit... coz in bout few hours...it was going to be it......NO MORE JOEL CHUA!!! NO SCLT!!! lolx... After the buffet dinner were the tribute videos for the PartD 2006 and the leaving CLTs... and yEs i was so darn touched by my platoon's video...
Cut the crap short...I left NCC less heartbroken than I thought I would be, In fact i felt pride and happiness also, other than sorrow...hahaha. I gave away a few of my most personal and valuable items in my whole NCC life. I gave my most treasured collarpin to ShuWee... my SCLT ranks, i had 4...gave 1 to Leon, 1 to Jarold, 1 to Neo and 1 to Kenneth. my fav 4... hahah...
I'll miss NCC....
If I could turn back time... I would gladly choose NCC all over agaIn still. HAHAHAHAHA...
